In the Additive for Mobility (A4M) project, Rechenraum GmbH is contributing its many years of expertise in 3D geometric data processing. The focus is on new algorithmic approaches for the automatic 3D alignment of target (CAD) and actual (scan) models, as well as the robust detection of defects in additively and hybrid-manufactured components.
In Work Package 3, the team is working on solutions for the automated quality control of additive manufacturing processes. The aim is to reliably detect discrepancies between digital models and real components, thereby laying the foundations for more efficient and data-driven production processes.
Through its research, Rechenraum GmbH aims to help harness the potential of modern 3D technologies more effectively in industrial manufacturing. The focus is on speeding up quality control processes, reducing scrap and sustainably improving manufacturing quality.
“A4M is the perfect environment for further developing the latest research findings in mathematics, geometry and computer science, in collaboration with strong industrial partners, for reliable use in 3D production.” Simon Flöry
